It's the one thing we should grow used to after years of practice. And it is the one thing that stings the way death is supposed to but doesn't (according to Hamlet, anyway).

Whether it is a Facebook intro that is turned down by one party (click ignore) or a message left to languish unanswered or the unreturned telephone call.

How to get some measure of philosophy over this?

Practice, I guess.

Lose something every day. Accept the fluster
of lost door keys, the hour badly spent.
The art of losing isn't hard to master.

Like that.

Gosh, I hope your not feeling this way because I don't know how to play on facebook. My daughter is trying to teach me, but all that happens is her laughter. Facebook truly overwhelms me (I know it's not me, but I also know I don't play there too well and isn't everything about me, anyway?)

Heck no, Ness! You're lovely on facebook. You let me bite you and became part of my Vampire army. I mean how cool is that?

hey jenn
your post could not have been better timed.
there is just no nicer way of dealing with rejection. no matter from whom or for what.
first you need to see it for 'rejection', accept that, experience it fully and only then maybe let go.
and its painful and difficult. and it leaves its footprints on the left side, a very important place....

I get rejected on a daily, hourly basis. Of course, it's rejection one expects. (Are you there, PR peeps?!?!?)

I really hope I accepted your Vampire army invitation - if you did send one. Vampires are rather cool.

I just don't want to become a Zombie...rotting body parts are messy.

Hang in there. Who in their right mind would reject you? You're fabulous!

"Isn't hard to master"? I beg to differ. I've been around the block a few times - and it isn't something that I've mastered yet. And I don't think I ever will. I have learned to thumb my nose and move on!

Lemon: Why? Is there something going on with your life right now? New post, new post! :) But you're right of course. Except that it never gets easier to swallow this bitter pill.

Marge: You kinda made yourself a vampire - which means you're part of no one's army and kind of hardcore. Coooool! And thanks. Not nearly as fabulous as you, but thanks.

Jackie: I think Liz Bishop was being facetious when she wrote that. Facetious or ironic. I'm gonna miss you...

Hrish: I received your number today. Will call soon. Just a little overwhelmed with work and stuff at the moment. Tired.
