A lost love

"I'll never see you again. We'll write a few notes as a graceful gesture of futility but I'll never see you again."

Hawkeye Pierce.

You're not going anywhere, are you?

No, not anywhere, not anywhere for now.

That was just a quote that touched me. You know, you hear something like that and it opens up old wounds. When you looked into the eyes of a lover you would never see again, and realise that there's nothing you can do about it, no way to save the situation.

Yeah, Hawkeye was always good for speaking the bitter sweet truth.

Hehe, you a fan? I have to say that he is my crush du jour. I am desperately in love with Hawkeye Pierce.

I get these obsessions, you know...

What's funny is, I really like Hawkeye, but I don't like Alan Alda in any of his other roles or as himself.

Yeah. In his other roles he was just not Hawkeye enough. I remember watching The Four Seasons and feeling ridiculously disappointed.

But I think Hawkeye, the role he invested the most in (towards the latter half of the show, he was a creative consultant) was most him.

But I love Hawkeye as he was...his sense of humour, his gentleness, his goofy gags, his short temper...

Btw, I watched the original movie and hated, simply hated all the characters in it.

And I wish Larry Linville hadn't left. He was so funny: It don't make me no never mind!
